With the New Year, easel (Experience Art in Southeastern Libraries) moved to a new location. Now showing at the Houston Public Library and shown here against a backdrop of the Library’s community mural. easel’s selection of artwork includes various artistic mediums reflecting each artist’s interpretation of a book, letter or letter, literary theme, or the library. The exhibit will be in Houston from January 8 – 31, 2011 before moving to the Lyle Schools.

With the New Year, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Commissioner, Mark Holsten, selected the Legacy logo. The new design was created by Bernadette Stephenson, a resident of St. Cloud. Bernadette has a strong library connection as she is employed by the the Great River Regional Library as Library’s Graphic Designer.
A DNR news release offers more details about the logo competition and selection process. This colorful design will be used throughout the State to designate those projects undertaken with funding from the four Legacy focus areas: outdoor heritage, parks and trails, clean water, or arts and cultural heritage.
A generic press release has been created announcing the EASEL exhibit with locations and times throughout Southeastern Minnesota. To view the release, please click EASEL news release. Help us spread the word!
