About
Southeastern Libraries Cooperating (SELCO) has always been committed to strengthening and improving your public library experience. Together with Southeastern Minnesota Visual Artists (SEMVA), we have created easel, a traveling art exhibit, so everyone can … Experience Art in Southeastern Libraries.
easel’s inaugural tour consists of pieces that correspond with the artist’s interpretation of book, letter or letters, reading, authors, or the library. The 2012-2013 tour will consist of pieces with the same themes. All work is limited in size to 12 x 12 inches. The 3D artwork should be a maximum of 12 x 12 x12 inches with at least one of the sides required to be 12 inches. All of the 2D artwork has to be 12 x 12 inches and gallery ready. The strict adherence to size is based on the Minneapolis Institute of Art’s Foot-in-the-Door exhibition held once every 10 years.
To qualify for participation, artists are required to be 18 years of age and live in one of the eleven southeastern counties of the SELCO region: Dodge, Fillmore, Freeborn, Goodhue, Houston, Mower, Olmsted, Rice, Steele, Wabasha, and Winona. Artists were limited to one piece of artwork.
Works of art in the easel exhibit may be for sale to interested buyers. If sold, the piece will be held for the length of the show. SELCO will make final arrangements for delivery to the buyer at the conclusion of the exhibit in January 2012.
